COMMON GROUND – Where Stories Meet

From 25–30 May, Teater Theatron once again presents Strange Spaces at Bastionen– an international festival of performing arts that moves, challenges, and brings people together.

At Strange Spaces: Common Ground, young participants and professional artists meet in a shared process of creation and exploration. Together, they engage in performances, workshops, and conversations centered around stories of identity, belonging, and human connection.

The festival creates a space where diverse experiences are given room – where stories are not only presented, but shared, tested, and developed through encounters with others.

In a time marked by division, we aim to open up for new perspectives, deep listening, and presence. Strange Spaces becomes a place where art is not only observed – but experienced together.

This year, the festival is enriched by the participation of young artists from the Erasmus+ Youth project STORYLINE DISCOVERY, who will also take part in this year’s BIBU Festivalin Helsingborg. Our project partners – Gledališče Koper / Teatro di Capodistria (Slovenia) and DAH Theatre (Serbia) – contribute not only through workshops with the young participants, but also by presenting their own performances within the festival programme.

In addition, the festival will host a collaborative project between Playmate Theatre and Theatre in Balance, as well as film screenings and more.

The festival week culminates in a celebration of Teater Theatron’s 25th anniversary– marked by their iconic performance Life in Two Parts, followed by a festive gathering with audience members, friends, and collaborators.

Warmly welcome!
